From our first meeting,
we’re working on a way forward. Immediately.
You deserve more than being heard. You deserve help finding a way forward.
Online therapy in New York, Colorado & Connecticut.
Together, we’ll explore your options, build a plan around you, and take practical steps toward feeling better. You’ll have someone beside you to help navigate the hard parts, recognize progress, and adjust when something isn’t helping.
I bring professional training and lived experience to this work. My approach is evidence-based, practical, and focused on change.
You don’t have to know exactly how to change—or feel completely ready—to begin.
You don’t have to know the way forward before we talk.
You might be good at pushing through—and tired of carrying everything alone. Maybe the past shows up as anger, shutting down, shame, or distance from people you love.
There’s room here to tell your story. There’s also room to ask, “What can I actually do about it?”
More about this work ↗The work we can do together
Individual therapy for adultsChildhood & sexual trauma
Work through experiences from childhood, including sexual abuse, and their impact on trust, self-worth, and closeness. You don’t have to tell your whole story in the first conversation.
Relationships & rebuilding trust
Make sense of recurring conflict, communicate more openly, and work toward changes in how you relate to the people who matter to you.
Substance use &
compulsive patterns
Talk honestly about alcohol or drugs, problematic pornography use, or sexual behavior that feels difficult to control. Look at its impact and what you want to change.
Identity, purpose &
career changes
Explore questions about work, job changes, anxiety, self-worth, and what you want your life to look like now.
I’m Michael Lockwood, a licensed clinical social worker. I bring professional training and lived experience to this work. I work with adult men and women, with a particular focus on men’s trauma, shame, and emotional disconnection.
Michael Lockwood, LCSW, is licensed in New York, Colorado, and Connecticut. Telehealth eligibility depends on where you attend sessions and is confirmed before scheduling.
From our first session, we’ll start identifying what you want to change and exploring practical ways forward. I’ll help you understand your options, choose a starting point, and work through what gets in the way.
We’ll pay attention to whether it’s helping—and adjust together.
A place for honest conversations.
